If the printers fault falls squarely into one of some classes of defined
faults, there are kits available with instructions (video or MPEG) that work
(http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/) - but they all cost more than you paid
for the printer.

Personally I have had no luck at all in getting proper diagrams and
procedures to get into my apple personal laserwriter ntr - kits are
problematic in my case because I seem to have faults that straddle the
symptoms. I have had 3 old lasers and none has given me any real value
(though the last which I paid more serious money for worked wonderfully for
a pack of paper or two and spoilt me re quality. Lasers are very good!).

I write to inform you but also to try to jog anyone to help with specific
references to where one can get good diagrams and text to encourage one to
pull one apart with some confidence. I have failed to get this in spite of
some effort - on any list or site or email. It is too awful to throw
something out that showed so much promise. And I like pulling things to
bits.

Good luck on yours, note the specific symptoms and go to the site mentioned
above.
