You on the other hand, are on comcast which doesn't give a rats ass about it's customers, and probably sells it's user list.
I've been on comcast for over 3 years and get exactly 2 spams every other day from the same places, and only to one out of 4 email addresses. I guess I'm lucky. Now the hotmail account gets almost 300 a day, but that's why I did it, the HM box is for web play and my other addys are for personal use.
I've also instructed all family and friends that if they must persist in in forwarding me all the garbage jokes, stupid & sappy messages and porn link emails that they receive on a daily basis, then they must remove all headers and not include my addy in any forwarded message to multiple addys. Most complied after I sent links about how email address are "harvested" by spammers , especially using those asinine "forward this to everyone you know" emails. Those that didn't comply, I threatened with pinging their ip address and sent them links about this also. That I could actually do it didn't matter, just that they thought I could. I started these measures back when I was on dial up. Having to download several megs of of useless crap just to get to my legitimate mail - which takes a fair amount of time on dial up - was getting to be a pain in the butt. Now and then someone will have a brain lapse and I just bounce the message back. I also redirected a couple of messages to people that I'm sure the sender didn't want it to go to. These may sound like drastic measures, but I got fed up with it when the amount of spam I recieved was preventing me from getting messages from clients. I also noticed that new spam from outside sources just completely died off after I switched from outlook to the apple mail app and I didn't set any of the filters up.
