4609 G/A is the # for the Apple replacement color cartridge.  The Cannon # is BC-05 
for color and BC-02 for black.

There is a button on the top center. (by the power indicator light) Does the printer 
do anything when it is pressed?
Does it try to print, but nothing shows on the paper? (Out of ink)

These are good little printers, although slow. (and the ink gets expensive if used 
heavily.) Like any inkjet, they need
to be used every once in a while or the cartridge will dry out.

Do you have the Color StyleWriter 1500 showing in theChooser? It is an Apple printer, 
so it is included in an OS
installation.
