O.K., 
        The black  ink  cart  that  was in the printer  seemed to be dry.
The printer ran  all its routes, but nothing on the paper . . .so, I robbed
an 05 color cart out of an old Cannon  that was  laying around and  it
prints . . .but in  all  red halftones!!!!!! Curiouser and curiouser.  Is it
likely to be the case that the  blue and yellow are gone? or more likely
obstructed? Or  is  it (as is frequently the case when your humble  narrator
is the  operator, operator error?)
