But why do a reinstall, when all you need is the
drivers? Just download them and be done with it. I
have been using this method ever since I started using
Macs, and have never had a single glitch. I don't
consider myself an expert, but I have owned over 100
Macs (and have 50 5400's right now!!-lol) and all I
know is what works for me. I have updated 9.1 to 9.2.2
so doing a reinstall isn't an option. Or back to
square one I go-lol.
I just installed a USB card in a G3/300 and added the USB (1.1) support drivers and it works perfectly. I would not do complete reinstall of the OS unless there was something wrong with your OS. This is just one little file you are talking about, I believe.
In fact, you can do a custom install, and go in and only select the USB Support.
Takes about 5 minutes, most of which is clicking into the list where the USB support is.
