Hi, I just purchased a 9500 (gotta love those 6 PCI slots!). I have Sonnet Tempo ATA66 PCI card installed as well as an XLR8 Carrier card with an Apple G3/300 ZIF processor. I have a Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm ATA hard drive connected to the Tempo card. The hard drive that came with the 9500 is a SCSI Apple/IBM 1GB drive with OS 9.1 and the CD-ROM is a SCSI 12X.
My problem: In OS 9.1 or even 8.6, I am able to successfully format the ATA hard drive and use it. However when I tried to install 9.1 on the ATA drive, it installed it just fine BUT when I reboot using the ATA drive I keep getting a system error (I believe error 10) right at the welcome screen. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Does anyone know what an error 10 is? Thanks in advance. BTW I did upgrade the firmware on the tempo card (it's actually an ACARD 6260M). -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
