Tim answered:
I would start by opening it up and looking around for black marks on 
the motherboard.  I am 99 percent sure (if nobody has been inside it 
recently) that it's the power supply, tho.....

Thanks again Tim...I feel better hearing that....a power supply problem
is "doable" problem to try to deal with. I'll report back when fixed.
