I ran my Mac (9500 Prologix G4 400Mhz) on OS 8.6 and it had all sorts of problems - particularly with crashing/freezing when on-line. So in the process of reinstalling my system I found that it's far more stable running 8.5. I've only heard bad stuff in relation to 8.5, it seems to be this evil daemon OS, so what's going on? Any ideas. I would like to use 8.6 cos I've got a USB card. But it really doesn't seem to be worth it.
My best guess is that your original install of OS 8.6 got corrupted at some point. I have found OS 8.6 to be a very stable release.
