Peter,
To set a switch "on" is it towards the card or away from the card?

Also, when I turn on the 9600, it powers on, without a chime, and then I do
a software reset and it chimes and comes on.

I added extra memory and a bigger drive yesterday, and found it was taking
several software resets before the chime/startup.

When I took the G3 Newertech card out and replaced it with a 180 (gawd help
me if I don't abbreviate properly - so I'll just say 180 megahickey) from a
9500 and it started first time every time.

This newertech card was one I spoke to you about a few weeks ago, and we
established the cache wasn't working on it.

But after a couple of boots with the 180, the 9600 began to quit on the Mac
OS startup screen.

Any ideas on what I might have done? Ratched the system folder or something
more sinister?

Tom
