Dear List: I have a friend who has a PowerMac 8500 with a Sonnet G3 350 processor upgrade card, 320 MB RAM, 4GB hard drive, and OS 9.2.2. Attached to his computer is a Laserwriter 300 which is having problems printing.
When he goes to print, the document starts to spool, the green indicator light on the printer flashes, then after a few moments the light extinguishes itself, and then nothing. I checked the Chooser to see if AppleTalk was turned on. It was and so I turned it off and restarted the system. I also noticed that while I was there, I encountered something rather odd. Instead of Printer Port and Modem Port showing up in the Chooser as they normally would, there are two Serial Ports displayed. Can anyone suggest what courses of action I could take to investigate these issues? Roland :( -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
