I am going to do a whole clean install on the boot
partition with a 8.5 cd, the 8.6 updater, and the font
manager. I am noticing that right now, my Menu fonts
program is running oddly for sure in AppleWorks and
Tex-Edit, e.g, it won't hold open the Font menu when I
click it [no sticky menu].

Odd thing is, the machine CAME with a 8.6 on it, but I
wanted to get fancy and do things right. Plus the 8.6
on it seemed to be missing some stuff like Voices. But
it was running fonts and things fine, although it
would not boot PhotoShop. What I mean is that
PhotoShop will start up, but then immediately shut
down. This edition came off my old Quadra. Is it
possible that a 68k-only install was performed on the
quadra? Even so, my 6200 running 8.1 ran it fine, tho
slow. But then again 8.1 still has some 68k code,
could that be what's wrong here?

Also noticing in this situation that various "Droplet"
mini-apps also refuse to work. My goal will be just to
get the clean install on right and see. Anyone ahve
experience with running the so-called font repair utility?
