9600/G3 400, Gremlin (OS9.1), 768mb, 36Gb

I just sent someone an installer of MacModemMagic scripts (stuffed). These scripts work extremely well for me, much faster than Apple scripts. The installer is the same one I downloaded and installed on my HD.

My victim says it screwed his OS (not sure which OS... is MMM OS-specific?) and would not connect PPP. He had to reinstall the Mac scripts.

My 9600 is FULL of bugs... BIG ones with lots of teeth. Is it possible for such a machine to corrupt an attached installer when sending it?

If you have bad memory, then yes it's possible. The file is read in and corrupted by bad memory then the bad version is compressed and sent. BTW, bad memory will also cause lots of other problems. Time to run the RAM test in Newer's Guage Pro <http://eshop.macsales.com/Tech/index.cfm?load=newertech.html>.
