Hello All,

Some of you are aware that I have been eagerly anticipating my
8600/300 that I purchased off o f EBay.. Well it arrived today, and I'm
still typing this email on the 6400/180.
BE VERY AWARE OF WHAT YOU BUY!!!! While this system was
advertised with 128megs of ram, there is only 112mb actual and the rest
virt. ram. It was advertised with Jazz/Zip/and 24x cd.. Well that is true,
they all are there, but the system doesn't see any of them and I cannot get
the d*mn thing too boot from the CD no matter what I do! However, it does
boot nicely into 9.1, but right now that is about it!
So after my diatribe, I'm asking: How can I force boot this thing
from the cd? Or is that even possible? Under Sytem Profiler the HD is the
only recognized drive, there are SCSI addresses listed, but all under
"Unspecified" or something along those lines.. I have OS 9.0 on cd, so I'm
not apposed to just blowing the entire HD and starting over. But this is
really uncharted mac territory for me, so any help would be very much
appreciated.. Thanks much for all of your input and help thus far..
Just learn from my mistake... It sounded like a great deal.. I
just didn't bet on all the work that would go into it once the box arrived!
