Hello folks

I have a 7300 G3 that I'm starting to have some issues with. I think the
internal apple 12x CD ROM is dying. It takes considerably longer to load
anything (games, videos, files) than it did in the past. Example: I popped
in the new macaddict disc and it took over 5 minutes just to read the disc.
All the while the drive was spinning speeding up and down constantly. When
it finally opened the tour, the video was horribly choppy and audio was
crappy as well. My questions that I pose for the group are:

1) how do I know for certain that the CDROM is dying?

2) my father has a 7200 sitting in the closet that we used to build the
7300. Is it possible to use the still functional CDROM from the 7200 in the
7300?

Thanks in advance!

Jeremy
