Unless the spindle motor's carbon bearings cake up your CD-Rom can be
rehabilitated. Try a CD lens cleaner to remove bits of dust settling on the
LED lens. If not you can dismantle the top cover to get to the LED/carrier
assembly - clean the LED and carrier with isopropyl alcohol soaked cotton
bud and the relubricating the rotating cam.carrier with grease or Dri-lube.
You can exchange the 7200's 4x CD drive.
