Thanks to Michael Day, who sold me a PCI USB card, I now have a pair of working USB ports on my 5400/200, running OS 8.6 and USB Overdrive.

The mouse works amazingly well and is full of surprises! For example, if there is more content than can be displayed in the window, clicking the scrollwheel changes the pointer cursor to a four way arrow cursor. Then, moving the mouse in any of the four directions moves the content in the window in that direction. Clicking the wheel once again returns the pointer.

Again, let me plug USB Overdrive one more time. <http://www.usboverdrive.com>

Among other features, it'll let you do things in applications that ordinarily aren't supported in that application, such as using the scrollwheel in a long text document or browser window.

Give it a try. It's a short download and you have a free 30 day trial period.
