Looks like my faithful Microtek ScanMaker IIHR is going to bite the bullet. I'm getting streaks when scanning color photos. If I need to replace this machine I could use some recommendations. I like the Microtek products but I'm still running a PM8500 with OS9. I do have a USB card but my printer and husband's palm pilot are occupying the two slots.
Should I: A. Kick hubby off my computer? (hubby will be very upset as he is jealous of the time I spend with Mac as it is) B. Get another USB card? (note to check to see if I have any PCI slots left) C. Get a USB hub and plug it into my USB card thereby accessing more peripherals should I end up replacing more SCSI stuff? Stupid question for extra points: Can you daisy chain in USB as you can with SCSI? Right now my scanner is daisy chained into the CD Burner which is attached to the zip drive which is connected to the hard drive. I need to decide what to do ASAP as I have a 32 page color magazine that needs to go to the printer in a week.
