First, thanks to everyone for the help, but I am still stuck here. Since
the basics didn't get me up and running here is a little more to go on.

Before all this started I had a WGS 9150/120 that gave me great service for
nearly three years. But it seems to have fried something it would chime,
but nothing further, some may remember this part of the story. Finally I
gave up.

At this point I picked up a trashed 9150/80 the plan being to transplant the
motherboard and upgrade to a Sonnet G3. But the /80 was missing its ROM. A
kind lister sold me a ROM stick on the cheap and this got me to the point I
am now. The G3 adapter is not here yet, but I want to get it up and running
ahead of things. Once the ROM was in it booted, but proceeded to have bus
errors, type 2 and type 3 errors. The finder won't stay running and that's
when I turned to the list.

I've zapped pram, changed batteries, cleaned ROM, installed fresh systems,
reformatted hard drives, trashed preferences all the usual stuff. The /80
was pretty trashed when I got it, and in fact really only salvaged the
motherboard. I've never had a Mac exhibit this behavior before, so it
really has me baffled.

Thanks All,
David
