Pardon me for being confused, but, Huh?

What do you mean, "wireless network...plugged into an ethernet hub?"

The simplest thing I can think of which MIGHT meet your needs, would be 
to buy a "wireless" router with built-in 4 port switch. This way you can 
have both kinds of network, wired through the switch and wireless through 
the "antenna" part of the router.

Get an "Orinoco" type wireless card for the 1400, plug the existing hub 
into the wired part of the router, and network away.
