Works fine, I have the genuine Apple 100Mhz one, I am also playing with
memory cards to try and hack it to 64Mb (as detailed on a Japanese web
page).
I have no idea what the 3rd party upgrades are like, with luck someone else
can fill you in on that.
I see from other posts that you already have a wired network, if you have a
hardware router that you use for the internet connection then you can just
plug the AirPort base-station into any spare UTP port and configure the
AirPort for 'bridge' mode, otherwise you want to plug the AirPort into your
broadband modem (assuming you have broadband, or use it's built in modem if
you are on dial-up) and then plug the hub into the AirPort, that way you can
use the router that is built into the AirPort.
Ben.

NB for PB500 parts try http://www.iluvmacs.co.uk
He has rev 'B' card-cages for the Powerbook at 10 UK.
But bear in mind that if you upgrade to PPC then you will need a rev 'C'
card-cage as the earlier ones are not compatible (and the rev 'C' is very
rare).
Also I noticed in an earlier post you said (I think) that you had a USB card
in your 1400, if that is so what make is it as I am not aware of any that
work in the 1400.
