hello all

I am attempting to get a newly acquired refurbished Yamaha CD/RW ( Model
CRW 4416S-NB ) to work with my 7600 mac. I am having a few problems with
the connectors from the unit to a Club Mac external case I acquired from
a member of this list. (Whose name I have unfortunately misplaced)

I managed to get the unit into the case and after trying many things I
have managed to get drive set up to recognize the unit, but the info I get
is that the Yamaha cd/rw is NOT ready and this message shows up on ALL the empty scsi numbers and none will
mount using MT. Everything

On the back of the Yam. CD/RW there are pairs of pins with scsi ID numbers over them
I Have put one of the dangling wire connectors running from the scsi bezel on the Club Mac case to this and
this is what gets me as far as described. There is another dangling wire
connector also running from the scsi bezel on the back of the
Club Mac case and this I have connected to the only other empty pins on the
back of the Yam unit (where it says block size.)This seems to make no
difference to anything when I do this

When I select the scsi id on the back of the Club M. case I seem to be
able to get number 4 easily There seem to be a lot of number 4s on
the selection wheelSelecting any of the 4's makes no difference

I would greatly appreciate any guidance hereMy apologies if this is OT
But I dont where else to go for information on this issue There isnt any
thing on the net as far as I can see

Thanks for everything so far!!
