if you connect  any two of the pins  that form a vertical pair  should give
you a scsi device with that number  ,
that's the usual way things i've used behaved ,
it may be easier to find a fixed jumper to do the job ,

i've just upgraded the system in my PB160  and tried to hook it up to my
yamaha 2216 ,
used toast CD-R extension  ( or charismac discribe's one )  to access the
drive.
