I got a good deal on a much faster (48x12x48) internal drive, sold the no longer needed external one. You only get 2x max speed on a USB one anyway.


Have you tried Disk Burner? (You need the CD Authoring extensions installed for that.)

Is Toast giving you actual reasons for the failures or is it simply reporting that it failed? (sorry if you've asked this before, I figured that someone *with* one of these drives had helped you offline, and it's been ages since I used Toast.)

Are you up-to-date on the patches for Toast? (I learned that the *hard* way back in the Toast 3.x days...it ate an entire partition of my HDD)
