Are the jets built in to the printer, or into the ink cartridge? When I have clogged jets on my HP cartridges I get a paper kitchen towel and dampen it slightly. I then place the cartridge on top of it, jets down, and ink is drawn out through the open jets, whilst the water breaks down the crustations on the blocked jets and eventually ink is drawn out through these jets too.
You do lose ink this way and I have had cartridges that have only required a few minutes (and lost very little ink), through cartridges which have required an hour and lost, maybe, a quarter of the ink. However, a working cartridge that is half full is better than throwing a full cartridge away that is blocked.
