Depends on the connection. My 36k Suprexpress' connect speed varied between
26400 to 31333 depending on time of day. Someone gave me a PC Supra 56k
which I converted to Mac use by switching the power cable with a Mac ADB
from another Supra 14k. It connects at 49333 typically.

There was a BBEdit hack that to the modem script that allowed for faster
sustained connect speed.
