<< I was wondering if anyone recalls how well these 28/33k ADB powered modems
perform. The only one I ever had was the 2.4k model. It's just being used for
someone with casual internet use on a 7200. Actually, in some case, certain
people cannot seem to get a faster speed than 28k.>>

I had a SupraExpress 33.6 ADB powered modem hooked to a 7300. The only
problem was with AOL 5.0 dialer. AOL would not recognize that particular modem. And
AOL's help boards has no answer. The modem would work just fine with a
conventional ISP or even with AOL for OS X since that version used the OS X dialer.
Unfortunately in the OS X version all Emails to any LEM list would bounce since
it didn't do text only Email.

I don't remember the connection speeds. At that time my phone lines had
trouble reaching 33k with any modem. No problem now reaching 50K. I suppose I could
test that modem again if you like (not with AOL of course). --glen (digest
