-- Actually, many of us have been there and done that very same
mistake.. So don't berate yourself too much..
Try booting from the OS 9 cd, and running the Drive Setup ulitity. If
that doesn't work, I've had sucess taking the hd out, and putting it into
another mac and doing the format that way from another functional computer..
If you don't have that option.. Take the HD out.. Find a nice powerful
magnet and run it over the top of the hd about an inch to an inch and half
away and sweep from front to back for about 5 minutes or so... However, this
is dangerous and can potentially destroy the hd completly... As long as you
don't touch the hd housing with the magnet, you should be fine.. Doing this
will completly erase everything on that drive... Throw it back in the
computer.. Boot from the cd and all should be good in the world... BUT I
STRESS!!! THIS CAN DESTROY THE DRIVE COMPLETLY!!!! THOUGH I HAVE DONE THIS
IN THE PAST. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!
