Hey all,

I purchased an 8500/180 off Ebay about a year ago. When I first turned it on, it
locked up. It locks up intermittently with the occasional error 10 displayed.

This is what I've done so far to try and isolate the problem. I've changed out the
PRAM Battery, changed out the memory, changed out the VRAM, reformatted the hard
drive in HFS+ and loaded 9.0 It had 8.0 when I received it. I've rebuilt my desktop
and zapped the 'ole PRAM a million times. When I e-mailed the person who sold it to
me, I received short 2 and three word replies. They sound like they knew it had a
problem. One of their e-mails asked if the hard drive was ok.

It has an IBM ~4G scsi. Were these drives buggy for the Powermacs?

I've even disabled all the extensions and turned them on one at a time (a long
process). I thought I had it licked . . . but alas . . . last night it locked up
again!

Anyone have any suggestions? Could it be the hard drive or maybe the processor card?
(which I have reseated a number of times)

Regards,
Steve in NC
