I use a switchable Mac to VGA connector that I got from MacWarehouse (which I now believe has been taken over by CDW). I believe MacMall could help you find the correct one. Mine was fairly expensive ... about $45. Would have made sense to get a PCI card, at that price ... but I wasn't video card aware at the time.
It's possible that www.mcpb.com also has the connectors.

Please keep in mind that this is for a 5 YO kid, so I need to keep it economical. He'll probably be getting my G4 in another year or so ;-)
