Hi Kevin & all; RJ45 connections, like telephone connections are notorious for getting loose. I have a Beige G3-DT and the onboard E-net socket is loose. If you move the cable the wrong way, it'll lose it's connection. Right now I've got the cable taped to the back of the case to keep it from moving. I've tried rebending the pins in the socket and that worked for a while, but it got loose again. The only way I see to fix it permanantly is to get a PCI card. You could try to rebend the pins in the socket, that may do the trick, assuming your cable is good. I got a brand new cable one time that had a bad connection where the end was crimped on. I use a safety pin with a small "L" bent on the tip to straighten pins in the socket that works pretty well. HTH --Thanks; Rev.
