At any rate, I can't imagine someone cranking out 100,000 pages as a > result of "personal use." <shrugs> My grandson (4,5 yrs) would say: "Fat cool agree!" I myself use a Apple LW II NTX for 5 yrs. now. Got the beast for free, printed 42,000 pages. I made around 60,000 prints since (I'm granddad, the bulkprinting-clown of the fam./friends-clan). Never had any problem. Every 6 months I clean it following the ServiceManual and using my "Instrument-Hoover". I only use "overdated" toner-cassettes. Euro 6 instead of euro 81 for a "new" one. (1 euro = 1.25 US$). Let's say 2.500 prints/cassette. I only use 1st qual. "restpaper" of a printshop. That's 10% of the papershopprice. You understand that I never will miss my LW II NTX !? And you still can get this machines for nothing or nearly, for they are out for buz.. Can only speak about Western-Europe. For ex., 6 months ago, I picked up a Seiko II (dye-sublimation) ColorPoint 835PS (A3 SW), complete with all materials for about 400 prints. I only had to pay the removal-tax of euro 26 (US$ 32.5). > Actually, skimming through the manual, it says here that you're supposed to > replace the "ozone filter" every 50,000 pages.
