afterall it is 2004, we have the technology!

OK, you live in America, don't you?

Quite a few European ISPs are monopolies of the state PTT agency. And yes, they DO charge by the byte and/or the minute.

As for the less than a 56K dialup, there are a LOT of places in America where 14.4 or 33.3 is about the best dialup speed you can get, due to local phoneco quality.

I live in Boston, a fairly high tech area of the country. At least once a week, my dialup will connect at 33 or 36 a couple of times in a row.

Frankly, that crack about the "worth" of someone who doesn't meet your standards is downright offensive AND ignorant.

Regardless of how fast your connection is and that you have a fast connection for free, it is a matter of simple courtesy to delete that ~8.5 kilobytes of attached junk that accreted to your replies. Not only for the benefit of the list members, but to reduce the amount of useless crap clogging the Internet.

SHIFT-COMMAND-DOWN ARROW will highlight the text to be excised and then hit delete. POOF! It's gone.

Total time involved, a second or two, at the most?
