Well, for sigs, serial numbers and the like, Stickies still exist in OS X
(/Applications/Stickies). You can have it running all the time hidden and just pull it
up when you require it (no memory constraints there).

A lot of the features from OS 9 such as Scrapbook don't really fit into Apple's
strategy of being the "digital hub" of your lifestyle :-)
And to be perfectly fair to them, a lot of the older, legacy apps (or DA's as they
used to be called) are too much trouble to Carbonize or rewrite in Cocoa for what they
estimate them to be worth.
