Whoops, my bad. The 5400 and 5500 will only take one pci card. Well, I'm not sure if you could physically squeeze one in the chassis, but there is only one slot opening on the back plate. On my parents 5400/120 that I set up for them, I swapped out a 5500/225 board and added the one-slot riser with a 2-port USB 1.1 card in so they could hook up a printer. Installed 9.1 and a modem and they are surfing!

5400 is fine, but the 5500/225mhz board is a real nice upgrade. When buying, make sure it has the PCI slot riser card. Or, I guess your 5200 would have one of those already. Just transfer it over.

Can the logic board be replaced in a 5200/75? If so what logic boards can be used in them? I have heard that 5400 boards will work, but are there any other that will work in them?

I believe that you can shove the logic board from a 6300 (not much of an improvement), a 6360 (essentially a 6400), a 6400, or a 6500 into the 5200 chassis. You would have to fiddle with the back plane to make it match the chassis.

---------
Actually, the 5200 is a "Nubus" machine (sort of) and thus has no PCI Riser. Don't know off hand if the 5400 chassis supports two or one slot PCI riser, but you will need a riser to fit the chassis.
