Ok - I'm going to stick my neck out here, I foretell much sucking of
breath and muttering in the dark corners of the [PCI] list but to Hell
with it ;)

I'm a firm believer in using the best application for the job.
If this means using an M$ app then so be it.
As far as I'm concerned one of the best things that M$ has ever done is
the Office suite.
I'm not talking the extended bloatware that the new Office 11 has become
but the key apps - Excel, Powerpoint, Word & Outlook.
In a nutshell they do what they say on the tin and are the industry
standard for business apps, and for a good reason.
If I was in the enviable position of being a manager of an office/company
full of macs I would insist on using Office for Mac, not only from a
compatablility with Wintel but from a familiarity and reliability
perspective.

I have, and I can proabably safely say that I will always be an avid fan
of Macs (I saw a lonely LC475 in a recycling bin today and only didn't
manage to take it home due to the looks I was getting from my other half -
I still have a room full of legacy hardware that I'm trying to find good
homes for!) but if the tools I need to do the job are from the
'competition' then I'll use 'em.

(People should also not forget that M$ has 'supported' Apple finacially in
the past (by choice or not) and if they hadn't ported Office to the Mac OS
then Apple would have died a long time ago)
