Your bad attitude is still not going to change the fact that most mailing lists use prefixes. This list was the exception to the rule, not the norm. I'm sorry it's bugging people, but if the tag went away I would probably leave this list and certainly not recomend it to anyone else.


So why are you even here? The list DID NOT have a prefix for a long time yet you stayed around evidently.


I think it's more telling that the people complaining seem to be incapable of filtering their mail properly *with* the tag included. Surely they should be boasting about finding a way aroung the tag, not asking to be "taken back into the stone age because we discovered fire"? (or some other caveman analogy.) They'll be lynching us pro taggers next ;-)


It's NOT a matter of filtering it's that the prefix screws up the threading. It doesn't just mess the order up but it scatters the messages of one thread into several places. I don't know of any e-mail client that would remove it and even if such existed it couldn't do it right, there are too many variations on how the subject changes with the prefix.

We had fire long ago and then you cavemen (your analogy remember) came along and through water on it.
