The motherboard is only designed to take 128meg max of memory - something about the addressing lines or memory handling chips.
136 Megs is the max for the 6400 - don't forget about the 8 megs built in on the mobo. The built in 8 megs was removed on the 6500's.
If I'm not mistaken, 1 meg of the 6400's built in was dedicated for video.
