Hi Thanks for the reply

Os is 9.0.4 had the same results with 9.1 and 9.2.1

Tcp /ip is showing ethernet.

The card is recognised and when I hook it to another mac the ethernet works
fine.

Specs are 

6400/180
104mb ram
Usb 1.1 card in pci slot 1
Rtl 8139 ethernet card in slot 2

All working perfect

It just will not connect to the cable line.
