Every thing checks out in the system and also the installed software but when ever it tries to connect. The Mac cannot get the isp for the cable modem it just says that it is not able to connect and asks for the dhcp server details. When I connect it to my Lombard it is fine but even with allthe file identical on both macs the 6400 will not connect.
You allowed the cable modem to see the Lombard - so the Lombard's MAC (ethernet) address has been remembered and is the only one authorized to talk. When you move the modem to your 6400, you need to power-cycle the modem to make it forget the Lombard's MAC address.
"power-cycle" = physically unplugging the modem's power cord for 30 seconds. Using the power button (if any) is insufficient.
