And all my plugins seem to be 6 now. Your "Delete the ones that are out of
place" is more on my question. How do I know what is out of place without
trial and error?

If the Mac OS allowed users to assign software pieces to paths as the platform ( definitely non-PC ! ) I came to the Mac from allowed this would be a lot easier. They could be put in one place.

The Plug in folder of the browser would be first choice. But I never know what to do with the Quicktime plugin . class. I don't see any other plugins in the folder. What QT plugins are spread on your drive ? Is it the same one that gets cloned there somehow ?
