[snip]I have a 7200/75 & have installed the software from a Supra Fax-Modem v.32bis & v.32
I want to be able to connect to my MSN account using dial up.
Modem control panel - Select the proper script for your modem.
Remote Access control panel - Set it to advanced user mode then fill in the phone number. username and password.
TCP/IP control panel - Set it advanced user mode, then Connect via: PPP and Configure using PPP. Leave everything else blank, for now, or fill in "msn.com" as the search domain, if you must.
Advanced User mode is set thru the Edit menu in each of the control panels. I recommend it because it shows you the hidden "features" of TCP/IP - which will come in handy in the future when you try to fix/debug problems.
After setting each control panel, close and save the settings.
To dial out, open the Remote Access control panel and click da button.
Note - if you use Mac OS 8.6 or earlier, I recommend keeping the Remote Access control panel open while you're connected to the 'net. This makes TCP/IP more stable (a problem fixed in Mac OS 9.0).
Full tutorials on all this are available withing the standard Mac OS help system, and on Apple's web site. Balloon help is also useful.
- Dan.
