Hey Guys... Just a few more cents to add... :)

I totally agree... But we're talking over 100 UK for one from a Sonnet
Reseller... And from eBay (250-350MHz) you're looking at 60. If you have
the money then I'd recommend you go for the above option but if not, the
Board swap is a more budget-aimed option at around 20-40

Whatever you do, MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE WITH 1MB L2 Cache! it's unbelievably
faster than the other cards and usually comes on the 300-500MHz cards

The G3 Power won't enable you to run OS X with any ease. XPF doesn't support
the 5500 for many reasons (mostly to do with Ethernet and SCSI etc) and the
fact that the built in video has major issues... So either way, you're
looking at the OS 9 series Maximum... And you'll still need a LOT of memory
(the 5500 takes 2x64MB 5v DIMMs Max for a RAM ceiling of 128MB).

I'd have thought a Network Card was of more use (that's what I have in my
slot) unless you can get a COMM Slot-II NIC cheap enough, or a USB adaptor
to RJ45.... Of course that all depends whether you want it networked as well
I guess :S

I bought a USB card for mine and never ended up using it... It's now in my
Workgroup Server.
