I need to buy a cheap video card for my PPC 8500, system 8.6. Needs toe under $30-40. It seems reasonable to get a Voodoo 3 or an ATI Rage 128 from ebay for about that much. I think I found drivers online.
My questions are: 1) Do I need to look for specific Mac versions? My understanding is that there is only one version of each of these cards. Will I need to "flash the ROM?" I don't really know what that means, and I'm not sure I want to go exposing myself to computer hardware! 2) Are there any other cheap cards that you might think were appropriate?
