I would have to reccommend the Logitech Trackman. I have three currently all running on everything from a 7200/120 to a G3. Some no name usb cards and some belkin. It works well, never trips. Even works with Apple's default mouse drivers if you don't want to install the additional software that comes with it.. And best of all they were $20.00 each here at my BX. So stateside they are proably 15 or so at any computer shop.
