PCI folks, My wife is doing a lot of web browsing these days on her stock 8500 running OS 9.1. She is getting sick and tired of instability with both Netscape 4.79 and Internet Explorer 5.1.6.
I have discovered Netscape's "Product Archive": Archived Client Products <http://wp.netscape.com/download/archive/client_archive70x.html> and there appears to be a Netscape 7.02 for "Mac PowerPC" <http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.02/mac/macos8/sea/Netscape- mac-full.bin>. The implication in the filename is that it is compatible with Mac OS 8 (and presumably later), but there is no Systems Requirements info at the Netscape website. Does anyone have experience with NS 7.02 with 9.1 on a pre-G3? Is it reasonable stable? I'm not too worried about memory (we have 200MB in the box), but how well does it perform?
