Maybe someone can shed some light on this...
I picked up a used Power Mac 9500/132 for my grandparents to use. It was in working condition, however, when I got it home, it wouldn't start up.
I can turn on the power with the switch on front or from the ADB keyboard, however, it doesn't chime and just sits there. Immediately after turning the power on, I hear the fans come on and can barely hear the CD-ROM starting up. After that, nothing. No chime. No video. Nothing.
I opened it up to verify all appropriate cables were plugged in, which they were. The SCSI cables look okay as do the connections between the power supply and the motherboard/drives. It had a dead PRAM battery, which I replaced with a new one. The new one was tested good with a volt meter and installed.
I tried zapping the PRAM, NVRAM and well as holding down the CUDA switch, to no avail.
My next thought is to reseat all ram cards as well as the processor, however, it looks like a daunting task as I assume that _everything_ has to be removed to access them.
If anyone can shed some light on the correct troubleshooting procedure, or if anyone has any idea as to what could be causing this, I'd certainly appreciate it.
