Hi, I am having trouble hooking up a Personal Laserwriter/300 to my 7500...

I have done this COUNTLESS times with other machines & printers -- as any
good Mac Momma would(!) -- but this particular combo is giving me fits! The
printer is not being seen at all by the computer, using the "Laserwriter 300/LS"
option in the Chooser, w/ Appletalk off as required, on the free printer port.

I KNOW BOTH the printer port and the serial cable are working, because I
hooked up my 1400cs serially and connected it to the 7500 via Appletalk. Now,
UNLESS it is possible for that connection to be made and STILL the cable cannot
see the printer, I must assume the serial cable is okay.

As for the printer, I tested it hours ago on another machine w/ another data
cable & power cord; everything worked fine.

I am at wit's end here; is there a way to reset and/or run a test printout on
the Personal Laserwriter?

Try another cable. I had EXACTLY the same problem with my LaserWriter 4/600 PS. The cable that worked JUST FINE with my ImageWriter II and StyleWriter II wouldn't work at all. I tried a standard serial cable, and the printer has worked perfectly ever since.
