Kim B writes, <Hi, I am having trouble hooking up a Personal Laserwriter/300 to my 7500...
I have done this COUNTLESS times with other machines & printers -- as any good Mac Momma would(!) -- but this particular combo is giving me fits! The printer is not being seen at all by the computer, using the "Laserwriter 300/LS" option in the Chooser, w/ Appletalk off as required, on the free printer port.> Geez, this does sound really weird. Anyway: I have a Personal Laserwriter 300 hooked up and working just fine with my 7200 (used it this morning) -- I don't know how similar or different your 7500 and my 7200 are, but I looked in my Chooser. Yes, my Appletalk is also off, but my Chooser lists BOTH the Personal Laserwriter 300 and 300/LS as possible printer options, so is it possible that you only THINK you have a 300/LS when you really have a 300 (that's what I have). And if this is the case, is it possible this could make a difference and be the source of your problem? That is, if you have a 300, you selected 300/LS in the Chooser and it's giving you fits? Arrgh! I know how you feel. Good luck. ~Yersinia. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
