Please expand on what "EDO RAM eats 7200 Boards" means

EDO RAM DIMMs are ok in 7300/7500/76/etc. However, somehow they are known to damage the circuitry of 7200 motherboards. It even states it somewhere in the Apple literature.
I don't know why this is or what happens to the circuit . But I am sure one of the list's techies will have a ready answer.
