I have a black Perf. 5400/180 in my kitchen. It has the TV/Video-card too. Recipes-database, kitchen-TV (cooking-progr.!), storing cooking progr.s, advanced cooking-alarm, internet for online recipes, mobilizing eaters, making shoppinglists and sending to tradesmen etc. > If possible, maybe I could even turn it into an answering machine? After (ae) the Geoport- and Global Village-modems adventures, I only use a GV-modem to send SMS to a cellphone. OK, you can do it over broadband but that's suspiscious IMHO. Using an "oldfashioned answering/fax/telephone-machine" is cheaper, eaysier and more safe than all the hard-/softwarejungle you need on a Mac/PC. > Also, I was curious what OS would be optimal to run, and what amount of > RAM would be nice to have in it. I prefer OS 8.6 for this machine. 136 MB will be the max for this machine and that's OK. Jo -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
